Top Patriots News

  • Patriots' Tommy DeVito: Emergency QB3 for Week 10

DeVito (coach's decision) is inactive but will serve as the Patriots' emergency third quarterback against the Buccaneers on Sunday.

DeVito will not be permitted to see the field Sunday unless both Drake Maye and Joshua Dobbs were to be removed from the contest due to injury, illness or ejection. DeVito has not appeared in a single regular-season game in 2025.

  • Patriots' D'Ernest Johnson: Elevated for Week 10

The Patriots elevated Johnson from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.

Johnson has been elevated to the Patriots' active roster for a second consecutive week. He will serve as the RB3 behind TreVeyon Henderson and Terrell Jennings and will also serve as a returner on kickoffs in Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, per Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site. Johnson played five snaps on special teams without showing up in the box score otherwise during the Patriots' Week 9 win over the Falcons.

  • Patriots' Christian Gonzalez: Good to go against Tampa Bay

Gonzalez (concussion) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.

Gonzalez entered the league's concussion protocol following the Patriots' Week 9 win over the Falcons. He was a full participant in practice all week and has been given the green light to play Sunday after being cleared by an independent neurologist. Gonzalez will likely spend most of Sunday's game shadowing Bucs rookie first-round wideout Emeka Egbuka.

  • Patriots' Kyle Williams: Added work on tap Sunday

With Kayshon Boutte out with a hamstring injury, Williams is in line to see added snaps Sunday against the Buccaneers, Mike Reiss of ESPN reports.

With Boutte having exited the Patriots' Week 9 win over the Falcons after logging just 18 snaps, Williams ended up recording a season-high 31 snaps. Look for that trend to continue this weekend, but the 2025 third-rounder still profiles as a speculative Week 10 fantasy lineup option given that Stefon Diggs, DeMario Douglas and Mack Hollins also are in the team's WR mix.

  • Patriots' Terrell Jennings: Remains RB2 with Stevenson out

Jennings is expected to see added snaps Sunday against the Buccaneers, as Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports that Rhamondre Stevenson (toe) won't play.

Jennings played a complementary role alongside TreVeyon Henderson in Stevenson's absence against the Falcons in Week 9, turning 12 touches into 44 yards from scrimmage, including a three-yard touchdown run. Per Reiss, Stevenson remaining out paves the way for Henderson to make his second straight start Sunday, but Jennings is poised to maintain his expanded role, while fellow RB D'Ernest Johnson likely will be elevated from the practice squad once again to provide backfield depth this weekend.

  • Patriots' Christian Elliss: Ruled out for Week 10

Elliss (hip) won't play Sunday against the Buccaneers, head coach Mike Vrabel announced Friday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Elliss will be sidelined after exiting New England's Week 9 win over the Falcons. His next chance to suit up will come Thursday against the Jets, so Elliss won't have much additional time to recover. Jack Gibbens could move into a starting role in Elliss's absence.

  • Patriots' TreVeyon Henderson: On track to lead backfield Sunday

With Rhamondre Stevenson (toe) having been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Henderson once again is in line to see added backfield work this weekend.

In Stevenson's absence in the Patriots' 24-23 win over the Falcons in Week 9, Henderson started and recorded a 75 percent snap share en route to carrying 14 times for 55 yards and catching four of his six targets for 32 yards, while Terrell Jennings was on the field for 25 percent of New England's snaps on offense, rushing 11 times for 35 yards and a TD and hauling in his only target for nine yards. Against Tampa Bay, look for the timeshare to continue to lean in Henderson's favor, a context that gives him Week 10 fantasy lineup viability. Meanwhile, Jennings offers an option for those in deeper formats who are scrambling for RB help this week.

  • Patriots' Kayshon Boutte: Ruled out for Sunday

Coach Mike Vrabel said Friday that Boutte (hamstring) will be out for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.

Boutte thus will target a return to action Thursday night against the Jets. In Boutte's absence, rookie WR Kyle Williams figures to see added snaps Week 10, while Stefon Diggs, DeMario Douglas and Mack Hollins also profile as candidates to handle a portion of the targets that would normally go to Boutte.
