  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Coach optimistic about 2025 return

Head coach Aaron Glenn said Friday that he thinks Wilson (knee) will play again in 2025, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Wilson was placed on IR prior to Thursday's loss to the Patriots. He will sit out a minimum of three more games, so the earliest Wilson could return would be Week 15 against the Jaguars. It's encouraging for Wilson's fantasy managers that the Jets haven't committed to shutting their top receiver down for the season, even though the Jets are out of the playoff hunt at 2-8.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Lands on IR

Wilson (knee) has been placed on IR by the Jets.

Wilson thus is slated to miss at least the Jets' next four games, meaning that he won't be eligible to play again before Sunday, Dec. 14 against the Jaguars. In Wilson's absence, Adonai Mitchell, Arian Smith, Tyler Johnson, Isaiah Williams, John Metchie and Allen Lazard are slated to handle the team's WR duties.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Multi-week absence expected

Wilson (knee) is expected to miss multiple weeks and could be a candidate for injured reserve, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Wilson injured his knee in Week 6 against the Broncos and aggravated the injury in the Jets' Week 10 win over the Browns. If placed on injured reserve, Wilson won't be eligible to return prior to Week 15 against the Jaguars. Even if he avoids an IR stint, Wilson could miss multiple games beyond Thursday's game against the Patriots, for which he has already been ruled out. Josh Reynolds (hip) is eligible to return from injured reserve in Week 13 against the Falcons and started opposite Wilson earlier in the season. Tyler Johnson led the Jets in receiving yards in both previous games that Wilson missed. Trade acquisitions Adonai Mitchell and John Metchie could both see their roles expand as they learn the playbook, and rookie fourth-round pick Arian Smith could see additional involvement in a Jets receiving corps that will be scrambling for production in Wilson's absence.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Ruled out for TNF

Wilson (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday's game at New England.

Wilson didn't practice at all this week, with reports suggesting he'll likely miss 3-to-4 games after re-injuring his knee during Sunday's win over Cleveland. Arian Smith, Tyler Johnson and Isaiah Williams got the most playing time among the other Jets' WRs on Sunday, but Adonai Mitchell and John Metchie could take on larger roles in the coming weeks.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Expected to miss 3-to-4 weeks

Wilson is expected to be sidelined 3-to-4 weeks due to a knee sprain sustained during Sunday's 27-20 win over the Browns, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Wilson underwent an MRI on Monday, and it's at least encouraging that his knee injury won't require surgery or a long-term stint on the sideline. That said, Wilson had missed the Jets' prior two games before briefly returning to action Week 10, and he now looks set to sit out until Week 14 against the Dolphins at the earliest. Assuming Wilson is indeed officially ruled out for Thursday's game against the Patriots, whomever of Justin Fields or Tyrod Taylor is named the starting quarterback will have to rely on receivers Adonai Mitchell, Arian Smith, Tyler Johnson, Isaiah Williams, John Metchie, Allen Lazard, tight end Mason Taylor and running back Breece Hall as his top pass catchers.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Being evaluated, getting MRI

Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Monday that Wilson (knee) is still having his injury evaluated and will undergo an MRI, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.

Wilson returned to action Week 10 despite being initially listed as questionable with a knee injury that had sidelined him since Week 6. It's unclear whether his current knee issue is an aggravation or a new occurrence, but testing on the Jets' No. 1 wideout's knee should provide some clarity. Wilson did not secure any of his three targets before exiting versus Cleveland, and at this stage his status has to be considered up in the air for Thursday's divisional contest against the Patriots. Per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, Glenn said Wilson will "hopefully" be able to play Thursday but "I don't want to stamp that just yet."

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Exits Sunday's game

Wilson (knee) exited Sunday's game against the Browns due to a knee injury, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Before his exit, Wilson did not record a catch on three targets. In Wilson's absence, Tyler Johnson, John Metchie, Isaiah Williams and Arian Smith will handle the Jets' WR duties.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Won't return Sunday

Wilson (knee) won't return to Sunday's game against the Browns, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Prior to his exit from the contest, Wilson didn't log a catch on three targets. The wideout approached Week 10 action listed as questionable due to a knee injury, but at this stage it's unclear if if his current issue is a setback related to that, or a new injury.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Returning from two-game absence

Wilson (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Browns.

Though Wilson ended up taking a questionable tag into the weekend, he never seemed to be at much risk of missing a third straight game coming out of the Jets' Week 9 bye after he turned in limited practices Wednesday and Thursday before upgrading to full activity Friday. Wilson isn't expected to face any restrictions Sunday and should step back in as the No. 1 target for quarterback Justin Fields, who is set to continue directing the offense in Week 10, despite head coach Aaron Glenn electing not to formally name a starting quarterback following Friday's practice.
