George Fant: Let go by Seattle
The Seahawks released Fant on Tuesday, John Boyle of the team's official website reports.
Fant will hit the open market after appearing in just two games for Seattle in 2024 as a result of a pair of knee injuries. The 32-year-old may need to prove he's healthy before he'll get a chance to fill a depth role on the offensive line for another team.

Seahawks' George Fant: Back on IR with knee injury
The Seahawks placed Fant (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Fant returned from injured reserve and played in Week 9 against the Rams, but he aggravated his knee injury during the game after playing just 17 offensive snaps. With Fant on IR again, he'll have to sit for at least the next four regular-season games. He is eligible to return from IR as early as Week 15 against the Packers on Sunday, Dec. 15.

The Seahawks activated Fant (knee) from injured reserve Saturday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Fant was placed on IR in September after suffering a knee injury in Week 1 against Denver. His 21-day practice window opened Oct. 23, and he was able to log a full practice Friday. Fant could start at right tackle Sunday against the Rams unless the Seahawks opt to stick with rookie Michael Jerrell.

The Seahawks designated Fant (knee) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Fant injured his knee in Week 1 against the Broncos, and he was placed on IR prior to the Seahawks' Week 3 game against the Dolphins. His 21-day practice window opened Wednesday, and he was a limited participant in his return to practice. He'll likely have to log consecutive full practices before being activated off IR. Michael Jerrell will continue to serve as the Seahawks' starting right tackle if Fant is unable to return for Sunday's game against the Bills.

The Seahawks placed Fant on injured reserve Saturday due to a knee injury, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Fant sustained the knee injury in Week 1 against the Broncos, and he was unable to play in Week 2 against the Patriots. He was a limited participant in all three practice sessions this week, but he was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. Now that he's on IR, the 32-year-old offensive lineman will be forced to sit for at least four games, and the earliest he can return is Week 7 against the Falcons on Oct. 20. Stone Forsythe will hold down the starting job at right tackle while Fant is sidelined.

Fant (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Despite participating in all three practices this week, albeit in a limited capacity, Fant will sit out for a second straight game due to a knee injury he sustained in Week 1 against the Broncos. Stone Forsythe started at right tackle in Week 2 against the Patriots, and he figures to do so again Sunday with Fant sidelined.
