McLaurin averaged 10.9 Fantasy points per game (WR12) in his first season building a rapport with Jayden Daniels from scratch. He was WR14 in PPR leagues and finished with just the 35th-most targets per game (6.9). McLaurin's Fantasy season was made by his 13 touchdowns (second-most), but touchdowns tend to be the most volatile metric to chase year over year. The Commanders have also added Deebo Samuel to the wide receiver room. McLaurin is unlikely to repeat 13 touchdowns, but there is a strong chance he will improve on his targets per game as his chemistry with Daniels jumps. Also, the passing volume could rise in Washington with a more challenging schedule. McLaurin is a safe pick as your WR2 and you'll need to grab him early in Round 4 or late in Round 3.
Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Discusses contract situation
Rotowire
McLaurin touched on his ongoing contract situation Tuesday, stating "without any progress in discussions, it's kind of hard to see how I step on the field," John Keim of ESPN.com reports. "I've been pretty frustrated, not gonna lie," McLaurin added. "Everything that has transpired has been pretty disappointing. I want to continue my career here [in Washington]."
McLaurin skipped mandatory minicamp in mid-June after previously being in attendance for the early stages of the offseason program. Since then, there haven't been any new talks regarding an extension, and he's set to make $19.65 million on the final year of his current deal. After the Jets' Garrett Wilson inked an extension of his own Monday, McLaurin currently ranks 17th among NFL WRs in terms of AAV at $23.2 million. The Commanders' top wideout has put together five consecutive 1,000-yard campaigns and recorded a career-best 13 touchdown catches in 17 regular-season games last year while working with standout rookie QB Jayden Daniels, but McLaurin also turns 30 years old in September, which could be contributing to a wide gap in how the two sides see his value. Washington veterans report to training camp next Tuesday, July 22, at which point McLaurin's stance could become more solidified.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Won't attend mandatory minicamp
Rotowire
McLaurin will not attend Washington's mandatory minicamp, which takes place Tuesday through Thursday, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
McLaurin has regularly skipped voluntary team activities this offseason due to dissatisfaction with his current contract, as he heads into both his age-30 season and the final season of a three-year, $68.2 million extension he signed in 2022. The two-time Pro Bowler was a big factor in Jayden Daniels' breakout rookie season, securing 82 of 117 targets for 1,092 yards and a career-high 13 scores across 17 regular-season appearances. While there's some reason to be concerned that McLaurin is a candidate to regress in terms of efficiency, especially in the touchdowns category, he remains the clear leader of Washington's receiving corps and could benefit from new teammate Deebo Samuel drawing away defensive attention. The Commanders should be motivated to quickly work something out with McLaurin.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Contract dispute brewing?
Rotowire
McLaurin is not in attendance at Washington's final voluntary offseason workout Wednesday, though he had previously been a full participant, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
McLaurin is heading into the final season of the three-year, $68.2 million extension he inked with the Commanders in 2022. Fresh off a 2024 campaign in which he connected with QB Jayden Daniels to the tune of an 82-1,096-13 receiving line, earning Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors, McLaurin's value to Washington's offense is greater than the $19-20 million in real-money compensation he's slated to earn in 2025. General manager Adam Peters said in late March that he'd like to work out an extension with McLaurin before Week 1, but the 29-year-old's absence from the final session of voluntary workouts now puts some pressure on the team to finalize a deal prior to mandatory minicamp, which will kick off June 10. Offseason trade acquisition Deebo Samuel figures to command pressure from opposing defenses without significantly threatening McLaurin's dominant target share in the deep and intermediate portions of the field, so even if hit by TD regression, the No. 1 wideout's overall volume and production has some room for growth in Year 2 with Daniels at the helm of Kliff Kingsbury's offense.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: May sign extension soon
Rotowire
Commanders GM Adam Peters said Monday that he'd like to sign McLaurin to an extension before Week 1, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
McLaurin has one season remaining on the three-year, $68.2 million extension he signed in 2022, with $19 million to $20 million in real-money compensation for 2025. That might be enough to prevent a holdout, but the Commanders would rather lock him in for multiple years after McLaurin finished 2024 with career highs for touchdowns (13), catch rate (70.2 percent) and PPR points per game (15.9). Tough as it may be to avoid TD regression, McLaurin figures to remain highly efficient and may even get a slight boost to his target volume, entering his second season in an offense led by QB Jayden Daniels and OC Kliff Kingsbury. Offseason acquisition Deebo Samuel should mostly get touches/targets that went to Olamide Zaccheaus, Dyami Brown and Noah Brown last year, including many of the screens that were a frequent feature of Kingsbury's offense. McLaurin remains unchallenged as the team's top threat to catch deep and intermediate passes.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Finds end zone to conclude season
Rotowire
McLaurin recorded three receptions on seven targets for 51 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 55-23 NFC Championship Game loss to the Eagles.
McLaurin was predictably the focus of the strong Philadelphia secondary and was blanketed by Quinyon Mitchell for much of the game. That led to a subpar performance, though he did manage an impressive 36-yard touchdown catch and run midway through the second quarter to account for the majority of his production. Though his campaign ended on a sour note, McLaurin managed a career-best 13 touchdowns while also tallying his highest catch total (82) since 2020 across 17 regular-season games.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Finds end zone in upset victory
Rotowire
McLaurin secured four of six targets for 87 yards and a touchdown in the Commanders' 45-31 divisional-round win over the Lions on Saturday night.
The veteran wideout finished second in receiving yards to Dyami Brown on the Commanders for the night, and his second-quarter touchdown came on a game-long 58-yard catch and run off a wide-receiver screen. McLaurin now has a combined 13-176-2 line on 16 targets over Washington's first pair of postseason wins, and he'll look to record a scoring grab for the fourth consecutive game overall against the Rams or Eagles in an NFC Championship Game matchup on Sunday, Jan. 26.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Strong numbers in playoff win
Rotowire
McLaurin finished with seven receptions on 10 targets for 89 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-20 win over Tampa Bay.
McLaurin was narrowly edged out by Mike Evans (7-92-1) for the best receiving line in this wild-card round showdown, but the former got the last laugh after finishing on the winning side Sunday. The 29-year-old McLaurin now has 14 touchdown receptions in 18 combined regular and postseason games this year, which matches the combined total from his previous three seasons. Rookie Jayden Daniels' strong quarterback play has been the key difference, as the QB/WR duo have hit the air flying in their first season as teammates. McLaurin will have a prime opportunity to put up big numbers in the divisional round of the playoffs against a banged-up Lions secondary Saturday.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Game-winning TD secures No. 6 seed
Rotowire
McLaurin caught eight of 12 targets for 62 yards and a touchdown Sunday's 23-19 win over the Cowboys.
McLaurin caught a game-winning five-yard touchdown from Marcus Mariota with three seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, ensuring that Washington finishes as the No. 6 seed in the NFC. The Commanders will go on the road to face the No. 3 seed (either the Rams or Buccaneers) in the wild-card round. The standout wide receiver finishes the regular season with 82 catches for 1,096 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns on 117 targets overall, marking the fifth consecutive season in which McLaurin has exceeded 1,000 receiving yards.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Struggles in Week 17
Rotowire
McLaurin caught just one of seven targets for five yards in Sunday's 30-24 overtime win over the Falcons.
McLaurin picked a horrible time to post his worst fantasy score of the season for managers who were competing for a fantasy crown. The steady veteran tied his season low in receptions while setting new lows in catch rate (14 percent) and receiving yards (five). It's uncertain how much McLaurin will play next Sunday against the Cowboys with Washington having locked up a playoff spot and unable to advance any higher than the No. 6 seed in the NFC.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Cleared to play

McLaurin (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
McLaurin improved from non-participation Wednesday to a limited practice Thursday to a full session Friday. He should be ready for his usual workload Sunday night, leading a WR group that won't have Dyami Brown (hamstring).

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Returns as limited Thursday
Rotowire
McLaurin (ankle) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday.
McLaurin opened Week 17 prep listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice estimate, but his return to the field one day later has put him on a path to being available Sunday against the Falcons. Friday's injury report will unveil whether or not he enters the weekend with a designation for that contest as he looks to continue building upon the 73-1,029-12 line on 98 targets that he's compiled so far in 15 contests this season.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Hauls in 12th TD in Sunday's win
Rotowire
McLaurin caught five of six targets for 60 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 36-33 win over the Eagles.
The veteran wideout hit paydirt on a beautiful 32-yard toss from Jayden Daniels in the second quarter that dropped in right over McLaurin's shoulder, but the Philly secondary focused their efforts on shutting him down the rest of the day. That strategy backfired when it left Olamide Zaccheaus and Jamison Crowder open for four more Daniels TDs. McLaurin still crossed the 70-catch and 1,000-yard milestones for the fifth straight season with his performance, and his 12 touchdowns in 15 games shatters his previous career high of seven. McLaurin will take aim at his personal best of 1,191 yards -- he's 162 yards shy -- in Week 17 against the Falcons.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Eclipses 100-yard mark late
Rotowire
McLaurin brought in five of six targets for 102 yards and a touchdown in the Commanders' 34-26 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday.
McLaurin finished with a team-high yardage total thanks to a miracle 86-yard touchdown reception with 21 seconds remaining on a play where the Cowboys were playing a heavy prevent defense. Prior to that unlikely catch, however, McLaurin had netted just 16 yards on four receptions and appeared headed to his third sub-20-yard receiving tally over the last four games. Despite the significant volatility in his production, McLaurin remains an every-week fantasy starter thanks to his upside as the Commanders prepare to tangle with the Titans in a Week 13 home battle.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Tops 100 yards in loss
Rotowire
McLaurin recorded five receptions on six targets for 113 yards in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Steelers.
McLaurin delivered several splash plays in Sunday's loss, including a 54-yard reception on the first play from scrimmage of the second half and a 28-yard catch late in the third quarter. That helped him to his fourth 100-yard game of the campaign, and he's now hit the century mark or found the end zone in seven of his last eight contests. That makes McLaurin one of the most reliable producers at the position heading into a divisional showdown against the Eagles in Week 11.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Pair of touchdowns against NYG
Rotowire
McLaurin recorded two catches on three targets for 19 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 27-22 win over the Giants.
Jayden Daniels only attempted 22 passes, lowering the volume across Washington's skill-position players. Nevertheless, it was surprising that Noah Brown doubled McLaurin in targets and four total pass catchers outpaced him in yardage. Despite the odd box score, it's hard to complain about the end result, as both of McLaurin's receptions went for touchdowns -- his second multi-score game of the season. He's now tallied 95 or more receiving yards or scored a touchdown in seven straight games, giving him remarkably consistent production.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: WRs to Sit
Rotowire
Jayden Daniels (ribs) could be out in Week 8 against Chicago, and McLaurin should be considered a No. 3 Fantasy receiver if Marcus Mariota starts against the Bears. McLaurin did well with Mariota playing the majority of the game in Week 7 against Carolina with six catches for 98 yards on six targets, and he has scored at least 13.4 PPR points in five games in a row. But the Bears are No. 7 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, and Chicago should make things difficult for Mariota and McLaurin. He's more of a bust alert than a must-sit receiver, but lower your expectations for McLaurin in Week 8 if Daniels is out.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Perfect on six targets
Rotowire
McLaurin recorded six receptions on six targets for 98 yards in Sunday's 40-7 win over the Panthers.
McLaurin had an impressive performance given the context of the game, as Jayden Daniels (ribs) exited after Washington's first possession and the passing volume was limited due to the blowout nature of the win. Despite both of those things working against him, McLaurin gained at least 15 yards on all six of his catches. His outlook could change if Daniels is set to miss a matchup in Week 8 against the Bears, but McLaurin has at least 98 receiving yards in three of his last five matchups.

McLaurin caught four of eight targets for 112 yards in Sunday's 34-13 win over the Browns. He added two rushing yards on his only carry.
It's the second time in three games that McLaurin has delivered triple-digit receiving yards, as he continues to click with rookie QB Jayden Daniels. McLaurin has a 23-303-2 line on 36 targets through five contests, putting him on pace for his fifth straight 1,000-yard campaign. In Week 6, he'll take aim at a Ravens secondary that's been surprisingly vulnerable this season and that just surrendered a combined 19-276-4 line to Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Breaks out in primetime win
Rotowire
McLaurin brought in four of six targets for 100 yards and a touchdown in the Commanders' 38-33 win over the Bengals on Monday.
After an extremely sluggish first two weeks with Jayden Daniels as his quarterback, McLaurin and the rookie signal-caller finally made some magic in a nationally televised showdown. The two first linked up on a 55-yard grab down to the Bengals' four-yard line late in the second quarter, and they then capped off a critical fourth-quarter march with a 27-yard scoring connection that essentially sealed the upset win for Washington. McLaurin now has boosted his season line to a respectable 12-139-0 line on 18 targets over three games heading into a Week 4 road showdown against the Cardinals.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: More involved moving forward?
Rotowire
Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury said Friday that he wants to "get [McLaurin] more involved" in the offense, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
McLaurin's 22.6 percent target share through two weeks is right in his normal range, but four of the 12 looks have come behind the line of scrimmage and another four within 10 yards of the line, with those eight passes yielding seven catches for 27 yards. The underlying problem is QB Jayden Daniels averaging 26.5 pass attempts per game at a league-low 5.3 aDOT, sending 35.8 percent of his throws behind the line of scrimmage and just 24.6 percent 10 or more yards downfield. The split probably won't be that drastic all season, but it does reflect a lot of the complaints about Kingsbury's offenses in Arizona from 2019 to 2022. Next up for McLaurin and the Commanders is a Week 3 game at Cincinnati on Monday.
