Mavericks' Dereck Lively: Questionable for Wednesday
Lively (knee) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Suns.
The questionable tag is a positive sign for Lively, who has missed the Mavericks' last eight games due to a right knee sprain. If the 21-year-old center is ultimately ruled out for Wednesday's contest, Moussa Cisse and Dwight Powell are candidates for an uptick in minutes, especially if Anthony Davis (calf) is downgraded from questionable to out.

Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Questionable vs. Suns
Davis (calf) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Suns.
Davis is looking to bring a six-game absence due to a calf strain to an end against Phoenix. The Mavericks are likely to determine his status following pregame warmups Wednesday. If Davis remains out yet again, Dallas would likely need Naji Marshall and P.J. Washington to handle the lion's share of the minutes at power forward.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Will play Wednesday
Flagg (thumb) is available for Wednesday's game against Phoenix.
Flagg is nursing a sprained thumb that he sustained during Saturday's win over Washington, though the issue won't stop him from suiting up. The 2025 No. 1 overall pick has averaged 15.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.3 steals in 32.7 minutes per contest across 11 games this season, shooting 42.4 percent from the field.

Mavericks' Moussa Cisse: Blocks two shots in loss
Cisse chipped in seven points (3-4 FG, 1-2 FT), four rebounds and two blocks across 20 minutes during Monday's 116-114 loss to the Bucks.
Despite being on a two-way contract, Cisse ended up being second in minutes off the bench only behind Naji Marshall (25). Cisse has also been integral for Dallas, with Dereck Lively (knee) and Anthony Davis (calf) out for the time being, shoring up their defense to the tune of 1.4 blocks per game in his last five contests. Cisse will likely continue to play behind Daniel Gafford until one of the aforementioned big men returns.

Mavericks' Max Christie: Extends scoring run
Christie provided 13 points (5-12 FG, 3-8 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists and three blocks across 30 minutes during Monday's 116-114 loss to the Bucks.
Another game, another instance where Christie scores in double digits while hitting multiple three-pointers. This was his ninth straight game with double-digit points, and the former Michigan State star has drained two or more threes seven times in that span. Christie is averaging 14.0 points, 3.6 boards and 2.7 assists per game while shooting 42.6 percent from the floor in that nine-game stretch.

Mavericks' Brandon Williams: Impresses in first start of season
Williams logged 19 points (4-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 10-11 FT), six rebounds, three assists and one steal across 33 minutes during Monday's 116-114 loss to Milwaukee.
Williams moved to the starting lineup Monday while pushing D'Angelo Russell to a bench role, and it's safe to say the 25-year-old floor general left a good impression even if his shooting numbers weren't very efficient. Williams has scored in double digits in all but one of his last seven outings and should continue to have streaming-level upside in most formats.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Picks up thumb injury
Flagg stated after Monday's 116-114 loss to the Bucks that he's been dealing with a right thumb sprain, Noah Weber of TheSmokingCuban.com reports. He finished with 26 points (9-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-10 FT), nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in 35 minutes.
Flagg noted that he suffered the injury on a dunk attempt in Saturday's win over the Wizards, though he also mentioned the injury shouldn't be a big issue going forward. The rookie otherwise put together the best showing of his young career from a scoring perspective, reaching the 20-point threshold for the third time in 11 appearances. Flagg's availability will be worth keeping an eye on leading up to Wednesday's matchup against the Suns, but it's a positive sign that he played through the issue Monday.

Mavericks' Brandon Williams: Starting Monday
Williams will start in Monday's game against the Bucks, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports.
The 25-year-old point guard will get the starting nod for the first time this season, pushing D'Angelo Russell to the second unit. Over his last five appearances, Williams has averaged 9.8 points, 2.4 assists and 2.4 steals in 18.4 minutes per contest.

Mavericks' D'Angelo Russell: Returning to bench role
Russell isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Bucks, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports.
Russell failed to take advantage of his recent move to the starting five, averaging 8.0 points, 1.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists in three straight starts. He'll move to a bench role Monday, which allows Brandon Williams to make his first start of the 2025-26 campaign.

Mavericks' Dante Exum: Remains without return timetable
Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd suggested Saturday that Exum (knee) remains without a clear timeline for a return, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports. "That's a great question," Kidd said, when asked about where Exum stands in his recovery from a right knee injury. "He's getting re-evaluated, and we'll see how that goes."
Exum hasn't taken part in practices with the Mavericks since early in training camp back in September, and Dallas continues to rule him out more than 24 hours in advance of games. Based on Kidd's lack of concrete updates on Exum's status, the veteran guard should be considered week-to-week until he resumes on-court work.

Mavericks' Daniel Gafford: Good to go Monday
Gafford (ankle) is available for Monday's game against the Bucks.
Gafford will shed his questionable tag due to a right ankle sprain and suit up in his sixth straight game. Over five regular-season appearances, the big man has averaged 8.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 19.6 minutes per contest.

Mavericks' Dereck Lively: Ruled out Monday
Lively (knee) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Bucks, Noah Weber of TheSmokingCuban.com reports.
Lively will miss his eighth straight game due to a sprained right knee, and his next chance to suit up will come Wednesday against Phoenix. With Anthony Davis (calf) and Lively sidelined, Moussa Cisse and Dwight Powell are candidates for an uptick in minutes.

Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Remaining out Monday
Davis (calf) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Bucks, NBA reporter Marc Stein reports.
Davis will miss his sixth consecutive contest due to a sprained left calf, and his next opportunity to suit up will come Wednesday against the Suns. With the star big man sidelined, Naji Marshall, Moussa Cisse and Dwight Powell are candidates for increased minutes.
