Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Not starting Game 1
Rocchio isn't in the lineup for the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Red Sox, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
After going 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in his last game, Rocchio will get a chance to regroup during the first half of Saturday's activities. Gabriel Arias will shift to shortstop as a result, opening up second base for Daniel Schneemann.

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Sitting out early game
Naylor isn't in the lineup for Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Red Sox, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Naylor went 0-for-7 with a walk during Cleveland's last series against the Yankees, and he'll now grab a seat on the bench to begin Saturday's twin bill. Austin Hedges will start behind the plate instead and bat ninth.

Guardians' Erik Sabrowski: Moves to 60-day IL
The Guardians transferred Sabrowski (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Saturday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Sabrowski has been sidelined since spring training due to left elbow inflammation, and his move to the 60-day IL will ensure he remains out until at least late May. His spot on the 40-man roster will be given to Kolby Allard, who was selected from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move.

Guardians' Ben Lively: Starting Saturday
Lively will start the opening game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Red Sox, Anthony Castrovince of MLB.com reports.
Lively had been scheduled to start Friday, but rain postponed the game and it was moved to Saturday as part of a doubleheader. The right-hander is coming off his first win of the season in his previous outing and has a 3.86 ERA over 25.2 innings.

Guardians' Doug Nikhazy: Serving as 27th man
The Guardians added Nikhazy to the active roster to serve as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against Boston, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Nikhazy will be making his MLB debut while he starts in the nightcap. The 25-year-old posted a 3.44 ERA and 1.27 WHIP across 18.1 innings during his four starts in Triple-A, and he'll be welcomed to the majors by a Red Sox offense that currently owns the third-highest OPS (.721) in the American League.

Guardians' Kolby Allard: Selected from Triple-A
The Guardians selected Allard's contract from Triple-A Columbus on Saturday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
In four starts at Columbus, Allard has turned in a 4.86 ERA and 1.30 WHIP alongside a 13:5 K:BB over 16.2 innings. He'll now join the big-league squad to fill a multi-inning relief role and take the 40-man roster spot of Erik Sabrowski (elbow), who was transferred to the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.

Guardians' Doug Nikhazy: Making MLB debut Saturday
The Guardians plan to recall Nikhazy from Triple-A Columbus to have him start the second game of Saturday's doubleheader with the Red Sox, Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
After optioning reliever Zak Kent to Triple-A, Cleveland initially planed to call up Nikhazy on Friday to fill the open spot in its bullpen. However, after Friday's series opener was postponed, Nikhazy's call-up will instead be pushed back a day, and he'll now be in line to start in his MLB debut due to the doubleheader creating a stretch of six games in five days for the Guardians. The 25-year-old lefty had excelled through his first four starts with Columbus this season, logging a 3.44 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 22:7 K:BB in 18.1 innings. Cleveland doesn't appear to have a permanent opening in the rotation for Nikhazy, so he could shift to the bullpen or head back to Triple-A following his start Saturday.

Rocchio is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox.

Guardians' Juan Brito: Out 8-to-12 weeks after surgery
Brito will be sidelined 8-to-12 weeks after having surgery Friday to repair a high-grade ligament sprain in his right thumb, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Brito suffered the injury last week while sliding into a base at Triple-A Columbus. The 23-year-old infielder had been off to a nice start this season with Columbus, slashing .291/.406/.491 with two home runs, four steals and a 10:11 K:BB.

Guardians' Luis L. Ortiz: Strikes out eight in loss
Ortiz (2-3) took the loss Wednesday against the Yankees, allowing four runs on five hits and five walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out eight.
Ortiz got off to a rocky start Wednesday, allowing two runs in each of the first two innings. The right-hander now has at least eight strikeouts in three consecutive outings, though he's struggled with command, posting 4.91 BB/9 through his first five starts. Ortiz now sports a 5.96 ERA with a 1.56 WHIP and 31:14 K:BB across 25.2 innings this year. He's currently lined up to face the Twins at home in his next start.

Guardians' Emmanuel Clase: Tending to shoulder issue
Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said Wednesday that Clase experienced some shoulder discomfort after his most recent appearance in Sunday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Pirates, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.
Clase came away with his third win but was charged with his second blown save of the season Sunday, giving up three earned runs on four hits and one walk before retiring the final batter of the ninth inning. The reliever had worked on three consecutive days over the weekend, so the Guardians' decision not to use him in save situations Monday and Tuesday against the Yankees in favor of Cade Smith was initially believed to be rest-related. With Vogt now disclosing that Clase is managing a shoulder issue, the right-hander's availability for Wednesday's series finale isn't known. Clase was able to play catch Wednesday, so for now, the shoulder injury isn't considered serious enough for the Guardians to shut him down from throwing.
