Braves' Luke Williams: Returns to Atlanta on MiLB deal
Atlanta re-signed Williams to a minor-league contract Jan. 18.
Williams elected free agency earlier in the offseason after being cast off Atlanta's 40-man roster, but he's found his way back into the organization on a minor-league pact. The 29-year-old has managed just a .212/.270/.280 batting line covering parts of five major-league seasons, but Williams will give Atlanta some utility depth.

Braves' Sean Reid-Foley: Latches on with Atlanta
Atlanta signed Reid-Foley to a minor-league contract Jan. 14.
Reid-Foley spent all of the 2025 season at the Triple-A level split between the Mets and Diamondbacks organizations, posting a 7.07 ERA and 39:33 K:BB over 28 innings. The 30-year-old has appeared in parts of seven big-league seasons, holding a 4.10 ERA across 71 appearances (13 starts).

Braves' Jorge Mateo: Gets one-year deal from Atlanta
Atlanta signed Mateo to a one-year contract Monday.
With Ha-Seong Kim (finger) set to miss at least the first six weeks or so of the season, Atlanta has added Mateo as a depth option at shortstop. The 30-year-old Mateo was plagued by injuries in his last two seasons with the Orioles, finishing with a lowly .177/.217/.266 batting line over 42 contests in 2025. He's healthy, now, though, and offers the ability to play second base, third base and all three outfield spots in addition to shortstop. Mauricio Dubon remains the likely Opening Day starter at shortstop for Atlanta, but Mateo will be in the mix while Kim recuperates from finger surgery.

Braves' Ha-Seong Kim: Out 4-5 months after finger surgery
Kim underwent surgery Sunday to repair a torn tendon in his right middle finger and is facing an estimated recovery timeline of 4-to-5 months.
Kim inked a one-year, $20 million contract with Atlanta in December, but he'll now be unavailable for the start of the upcoming campaign after recently sustaining the injury after he slipped on ice while back home in his native South Korea, per Mark Bowman of MLB.com. The 30-year-old was limited to 48 games for Tampa Bay and Atlanta last season due to injuries, and his 2026 is also off to an unfortunate start. Based on the initial timeline, Kim shouldn't be expected to make his season debut until at least mid-May but could be out longer, potentially leaving Mauricio Dubon or Nacho Alvarez to fill in at shortstop for much of the first half.

Braves' Tristin English: Latches on with Atlanta
Atlanta signed English to a minor-league contract Dec. 22.
English reached the big leagues for the first time at age 28 for the Diamondbacks in 2025, going 2-for-22 at the plate in seven tilts. He can play both corner-infield spots as well as left field and will likely begin the 2026 season at Triple-A Gwinnett.

Atlanta designated Waldichuk for assignment Saturday.
Just two days after being claimed off waivers from the Athletics on Thursday, Waldichuk will once again enter the waiver process following Atlanta's addition of Tyler Kinley on Saturday. After missing the entire 2024 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery, the 28-year-old Waldichuk returned to action at Triple-A last season but struggled with an 8.65 ERA and 2.06 WHIP across 51 innings.

Braves' Tyler Kinley: Back with Atlanta
Kinley signed a one-year, $4.25 million contract with Atlanta on Saturday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Atlanta declined Kinley's $5.5 million club option for 2026 earlier in the offseason, but the team will now bring the 34-year-old reliever back on a more team-friendly deal that also includes a club option for 2027. Kinley owned a 5.66 ERA and 1.45 WHIP through 47.2 innings when the Rockies shipped him to Atlanta at the trade deadline, at which point the right-hander flipped a switch and posted a 0.72 ERA and 0.68 WHIP across his final 25 frames. He'll likely face a healthy amount of competition for high-leverage opportunities in Atlanta, but his recent body of work should keep him in the late-inning mix heading into the new season.

Braves' Brett Wisely: Scrubbed from 40-man roster
Atlanta designated Wisely for assignment Friday.
The move frees a 40-man roster spot for the addition of George Soriano, who was claimed off waivers. Wisely was a waiver claim himself in September and holds a career .214/.265/.319 slash line over parts of three major-league seasons. The 26-year-old can play all over the diamond, but he's out of minor-league options, which could hurt his chances of being claimed again.

Atlanta claimed Soriano off waivers from the Orioles on Friday.
It's the second time this offseason Soriano has been waived and claimed, after he bounced from Miami to Baltimore in November. The righty reliever has collected a 5.95 ERA and 117:55 K:BB covering 118 innings across parts of three seasons in the big leagues. Soriano does not have minor-league options remaining.

Waldichuk was sidelined for a year-and-a-half following Tommy John surgery and posted an 8.65 ERA, 2.06 WHIP and 64:42 K:BB across 51 innings with Triple-A Las Vegas in 2025 after returning. The lefty boasts a career 33.9 percent strikeout rate in the minors and has minor-league options remaining, so it's not a surprise he didn't pass through waivers. Waldichuk will likely begin 2026 in the Triple-A Gwinnett rotation.

Keirsey has found a new home with Atlanta after being non-tendered by the Twins and electing free agency in November. The outfielder appeared in 74 matchups with Minnesota during the 2025 season, struggling to a .107 average with two home runs, six RBI, 10 stolen bases on 13 attempts and 11 runs scored.
