Duran went 1-for-3 with two walks and a two-run homer in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Rays. Duran gave the Red Sox a three-run lead in the second inning, when he took a 96 mph fastball from Ryan Pepiot deep to left-center field for a 388-foot, two-run home run. Duran has recorded a hit in five of his last six games, and over that span he's logged four walks, two stolen bases, four runs scored, one home run and three RBI.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Getting first day off

Duran is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox. Duran will sit on the bench for the first time this season after starting the season with a .600 OPS through 72 plate appearances. While he regroups, Rob Refsnyder will pick up a start in left field and bat fourth.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Reaches base four times in win

Duran went 2-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored, a stolen base and two walks in Thursday's 4-3 extra-inning victory over the Blue Jays. Duran walked and subsequently stole second base before scoring Boston's first run of the game in the sixth inning, but he was caught stealing in the 10th frame after driving in a game-tying run on a single. The speedy outfielder is still searching for a rhythm in 2025, as he's batting an ordinary .250 with zero homers and six runs scored through 67 plate appearances, but Duran does have eight RBI and five thefts over 14 outings.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Doubles, triples in win

Duran went 2-for-5 with a double and a triple Monday against the Blue Jays. The 28-year-old outfielder collected a double and a triple, just his fourth and fifth extra-base hits this month. The double extended his league-leading total to 47, while his 14th triple pulled him even with Corbin Carroll for the league lead. Duran broke out with an .828 OPS in 102 contests last season, and he's built on that in 2024 with a .286 average while posting 82 total extra-base hits (including 21 homers), 75 RBI, 107 runs and 34 stolen bases through 155 games.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Logs three hits in loss

Duran went 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Yankees. He also was caught stealing. Duran singled ahead of Masataka Yoshida's two-run home run in the sixth that broke a scoreless tie. He later doubled in the seventh inning but was stranded there before the Yankees plated five in the bottom half of the frame. The double was Duran's league-leading 45th of the season. Duran had been struggling entering the game, going 4-for-32 (.125) over the previous seven games.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Flashes tools in Tuesday's win

Duran went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Blue Jays. The 27-year-old outfielder led off the game by hooking a Yariel Rodriguez fastball around Pesky's Pole down the right-field line, continuing a blistering stretch that has seen Duran slash .372/.449/.860 over his last 11 games. Tuesday's blast gave him his first career 20-20 campaign -- he's got 20 homers and 32 steals in 130 contests -- and Duran capped off his impressive performance with outfield assists in each of the first two innings, tying him with Ian Happ for the MLB lead at 11.

He's racked up 16 home runs over 122 contests this season, twice as many as he belted in 102 games last year. • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Starting in return from suspension

Duran will start in left field and bat leadoff Wednesday against the Rangers after being reinstated from his two-game suspension. The Red Sox handed Duran a two-game, unpaid ban after he was heard using a homophobic slur toward a heckler during Sunday's loss to the Astros. The suspension was announced after the Red Sox consulted with Major League Baseball on the matter, so Duran isn't expected to be subject to any further discipline from the team or the league. The reigning All-Star Game MVP is back in action for the series finale with the Rangers in his customary leadoff spot.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Could face suspension

Duran could be subject to a suspension after he directed a homophobic slur toward a heckling fan during Sunday's 10-2 loss to the Astros, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports. Duran issued an apology after the game, as did the Red Sox. Abraham relays that a suspension could be handed down as soon as Monday, while noting that in similar past incidents, Major League Baseball and the offending player's team have worked together to come up with a mutually agreed upon suspension. The Red Sox begin a three-game series against the Rangers on Monday.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Two hits, steal in loss

Duran went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 8-4 loss to Houston. Duran put himself in scoring position multiple times, but the Red Sox were unable to deliver key hits, as they went 1-for-12 with RISP. The stolen base was his 28th, tying him for fifth in MLB. He continued a torrid stretch of hitting, which includes multiple hits in 12 of the last 21 games. Duran is slashing .368/.417/.674 with 11 doubles, three triples, four home runs, 17 RBI, 18 runs and six steals during that stretch.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Good to go Sunday

Duran will start in center field and bat leadoff in Sunday's game against the Rangers. Though he played all nine innings of Saturday's 7-4 loss while going 1-for-5 with three strikeouts, Duran was evaluated by the training staff during an at-bat earlier in the game, when he appeared to tweak his side on a swing. He apparently checked out fine upon reporting to the ballpark Sunday, but Duran was sporting a wrap around his torso, and manager Alex Cora said that the 28-year-old will get some treatment, according to Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic. Don't be surprised if Duran receives a day off sometime in the near future, given that he hasn't been rested since the All-Star break and doesn't look to be at full health.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Takes home All-Star MVP honors

Duran was named the MVP of Tuesday's All-Star Game after going 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in the American League's 5-3 win over the National League. Entering the game in the top of the fifth inning as a replacement for starting center fielder Aaron Judge, Duran broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the frame when he took Reds right-hander Hunter Greene deep to right center. The two-run blast held up as the difference in the American League's win, allowing Duran to become the first Red Sox player since J.D. Drew in 2008 to take home MVP honors in the Midsummer Classic. Duran earned his first All-Star nod after slashing .284/.342/.477 with 10 home runs and 22 stolen bases in 439 plate appearances during the first half.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Dropped to second in order

Duran batted second and went 0-for-4 in Friday's 6-1 loss to Kansas City. Red Sox manager Alex Cora, cognizant of Boston's struggles against left-handers, moved the righty-hitting Rob Refsnyder to leadoff against Cole Ragans. While Refsnyder got on base twice against Ragans, the left-hander stifled the rest of Boston's lineup, the second time in three games the Red Sox were quelled by a southpaw. Duran, who is batting .275/.336/.468 overall, is slashing .242/.313/.300 against lefties.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Three more hits, including walk-off

Duran went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 7-6 walk-off win over the Blue Jays. Duran figured prominently in the come-from-behind win, in which Boston scored five times in the final two innings. Thanks to a miscommunication by Toronto's left side of the infield, his eighth-inning popup fell to the ground for a double followed by David Hamilton's two-run home run. An inning later, Duran produced the walk-off run with a single. The outfielder has multiple hits in five consecutive games (12-for-23) and has hit safely in 14 straight.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Homers, extends hit streak

Duran went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Reds. Duran hit one of five solo home runs the two teams combined to crush in the first three innings before the game settled into a pitching match. His third-inning homer was the second in as many games and extended a hit streak to 11 contests, during which he's 18-for-48 (.375) with seven extra-base hits, five walks, five steals, seven RBI and 12 runs. Duran is proving that his breakout last season was no fluke. Regardless of whichever outlet is tracking WAR in 2024, Duran is among the top 10: Baseball Reference (3.9, T-6th), ESPN (3.9, T-7th) or FanGraphs (3.1, T-9th).
