Crochet dominated his former team for a second straight outing, departing with a 3-0 lead that his bullpen immediately surrendered in the seventh inning. The southpaw generated 17 whiffs on 96 pitches and has now yielded just four total earned runs through his first five starts of 2025. He'll take a 1.13 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 35:10 K:BB across 32 innings into a home matchup with the Mariners next week.

Crochet (2-1) yielded one run on a hit and a walk over 7.1 innings Sunday, striking out 11 and earning a win over the White Sox.
Crochet was nearly untouchable Sunday; he was perfect through five innings and carried a no-hitter into the eighth. He was removed from the game after Chase Meidroth broke it up with a single and later came around to score with Garrett Whitlock on the mound. Crochet generated a season-high 18 whiffs, including 11 with his four-seamer that averaged 95.8 mph. He dropped his ERA to 1.38 with a 28:8 K:BB through 26 frames. Crochet (1-1) yielded four runs (one earned) on five hits and four walks over 5.2 innings Tuesday, striking out five and taking a loss against Toronto.
Crochet rolled through five scoreless frames before unraveling in the sixth inning. He coughed up a solo homer to George Springer before the Blue Jays scored three unearned runs in the inning. Crochet threw a career-high 107 pitches (65 strikes) and forced 11 whiffs. Despite the shaky performance, he owns a 1.45 ERA with a 17:7 K:BB through three starts. After throwing five solid innings in his Red Sox debut Opening Day against Texas, Crochet built on that showing Wednesday by spinning eight shutout frames and scattering four singles for a brilliant performance on the road. The hard-throwing southpaw has allowed just two runs to go with 12 punchouts over 13 innings so far this year. Crochet will look to keep the good times rolling in his next start, which is slated to come at home against Toronto early next week.

Red Sox's Garrett Crochet: Inks six-year extension with Boston
Crochet agreed to a six-year, $170 million contract extension with the Red Sox on Monday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Passan notes that this deal won't go into effect until the 2026 season and includes an opt-out clause following the 2030 campaign. Crochet is currently under contract on a one-year, $3.8 million agreement until the end of 2025 and made only one start with Boston before the two sides were able to come together on a long-term contract.

Making his Red Sox debut after being acquired from the White Sox during the offseason, the hard-throwing lefty fired five solid innings against a righty-dominant Rangers lineup. Boston didn't grab the lead until the ninth inning, keeping Crochet out of the win column Thursday. Crochet tentatively has another tough matchup against the Orioles on the road next week, and he'll be looking to further build on his early success with his new team after allowing a lone run with a whopping 30 punchouts in 15.2 innings during spring training.
