Manager Bud Black said Saturday that Tovar (hip) is 7-to-10 days from returning, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Tovar was placed on the 10-day IL on April 19 with a hip contusion. The Rockies were already down Thairo Estrada (wrist) in the middle infield and Aaron Schunk (groin) landed on the shelf Saturday. In the meantime, Kyle Farmer and Adael Amador figure to play regularly in the middle infield.

Abrams went 2-for-5 with a triple, a run scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Friday's win over the Mets.

After going hitless in his return from the IL on Thursday, Abrams led off the ninth inning with a triple that just eluded right fielder Juan Soto at the wall, sparking a two-run, walk-off rally by the Nats. While Abrams' .240 batting average (12-for-50) on the season isn't anything special, he's a perfect 5-for-5 on the basepaths and has been scalding the ball when he's made contact, with seven of his 12 hits going for extra bases (two double, a triple, four homers).

King went 2-for-4 with his first career professional home run for High-A Wilmington on Friday.

The 22-year-old had a rough start to the season, but King has begun to heat up at the plate. He's hit safely in seven straight games, batting .458 (11-for-24) over that stretch with four steals in four attempts and a 3:5 BB:K. After serving as a super-utility player in college, the Nationals have used King exclusively at shortstop so far since selecting him 10th overall in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, but that could change at higher levels of the minors. His speed and hit tool are assets, but King's ultimate fantasy value will depend on how much power he develops as he moves up the ladder.

Rocchio isn't in the lineup for the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Red Sox, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

After going 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in his last game, Rocchio will get a chance to regroup during the first half of Saturday's activities. Gabriel Arias will shift to shortstop as a result, opening up second base for Daniel Schneemann.

Wilson went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 6-5 win over the White Sox.

The rookie shortstop got hold of a Sean Burke slider on the inner part of the plate to lead off the fifth inning with a solo shot. It was Wilson's third homer in 25 games to begin the season, an impressive showing considering he managed only seven home runs in 103 games across all levels in 2024. His ability to make contact is still the driving factor for his fantasy value, however -- Wilson is slashing .347/.354/.500 through 99 plate appearances with one steal, 14 RBI and 15 runs.

Lawlar is batting .354/.446/.656 over 24 games for Triple-A Reno. He's started 14 of those 24 contests at second base.

Lawlar came up through the system as a shortstop, but a position switch for the team's top prospect was signaled when the Diamondbacks extended shortstop Geraldo Perdomo this spring. Lawlar is currently riding a seven-game hit streak, during which he's 15-for-30 with five walks, two home runs, two triples, four doubles, 12 RBI, five steals and 10 runs scored. "He's driving the ball to all fields," Arizona farm director Chris Slivka told Steve Gilbert of MLB.com. "He's controlling his bats. He's getting more experience over there at second base, getting more familiarity with the position and the reads, the angles and double play turns. He's looked really good on both sides of the ball, so he's obviously trending in the right direction." That direction should eventually lead to the majors, but there isn't an obvious path to regular at-bats once second baseman Ketel Marte (hamstring) returns from injury. Lawlar has played some third base, which could be an option if Eugenio Suarez doesn't improve on his .690 OPS.

Amaya isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics.

Amaya has been in a notable slump at the plate recently, going 0-for-13 over his last nine games and logging just three hits since the start of April. He'll give way to Brooks Baldwin at shortstop Friday, creating an opening in the lineup for Nick Maton to serve as Chicago's DH.

Rocchio is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox.

The absence ends a stretch of five consecutive starts for Rocchio, who went 3-for-15 with a stolen base, three runs and one RBI during that stretch. Gabriel Arias will move to shortstop while Daniel Schneemann receives a start at the keystone.

Brito will be sidelined 8-to-12 weeks after having surgery Friday to repair a high-grade ligament sprain in his right thumb, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Brito suffered the injury last week while sliding into a base at Triple-A Columbus. The 23-year-old infielder had been off to a nice start this season with Columbus, slashing .291/.406/.491 with two home runs, four steals and a 10:11 K:BB.

Abrams went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Thursday's loss to the Orioles.

Activated off the IL earlier in the day after recovering from a hip strain, Abrams was back in his usual leadoff spot in his return. The 24-year-old shortstop has racked up counting stats to begin the season with four homers, four steals, six runs and seven RBI through just 12 games, but his .222/.265/.533 slash line reflects his career-worst 26.0 percent strikeout rate so far.
