Draft Scouting Report

Rating: 80.80 (Starter)
Pro Comparison: Jordan Akins
Summary

Terrance Ferguson is a legitimate versatile TE with a solid frame and a knack for creating yards after the catch. He’s a long-striding runner with deceptive speed, though he’s more of a build-up athlete than an explosive mover. Not especially twitchy in tight spaces, but he navigates the field with enough fluidity to adjust mid-route and work off contact. He won’t separate with quickness, but his speed can stress slower linebackers in coverage.

He thrives underneath, where his balance and vision allow him to maximize gains after the catch. He was frequently schemed touches off play-action leaks, giving him room to turn into a powerful runner in the open field. Not the smoothest change-of-direction athlete, but he moves with urgency when adjusting to coverage or improvising in scramble situations. Tough to bring down, consistently fights through contact and shows effort to stay upright.

He is one of the more engaged blockers in the class, showing tenacity both in-line and in space. He uses his instincts and effort well when sustaining blocks, though adding more strength would enhance his effectiveness. Reliable hands overall, but he’s not a high-point specialist and had some frustrating drops on less-than-perfect throws.

A well-rounded, modern TE who can generate extra yardage with his running ability while bringing old-school physicality as a blocker.
